"How long will it take?" is the question we hear before "how much?" almost as often, and it is the one most cabinet shops answer vaguely. Here is the honest version for metro Atlanta, step by step, with the numbers we actually plan around at our Norcross showroom.
Week 0: measure
Everything downstream is built on the measurements, so this is the step not to rush. We come to your home and measure for free across metro Atlanta, or you bring your own numbers to the showroom at 3280 Peachtree Corners Circle using our measuring guide. Either way we need wall lengths, ceiling height, window and door positions, and where the water, gas and power actually are. One visit, usually under an hour.
Week 1: design and the itemized number
With the measurements in hand we lay the room out, in the showroom or in the free 3D designer you can use yourself. This is where you pick from 60 door styles across 10 collections and decide drawers versus doors, a pantry versus uppers, and whether the island fits. You leave with a free, itemized estimate. A 10×10 kitchen in ready-to-assemble cabinets starts at $1,750, cabinets only, already 60% off list; assembly, delivery and installation are separate lines you can add or skip. Stock sizes fit most kitchens with fillers and trim, which is what keeps this step to days rather than weeks.
Weeks 2 to 4: the cabinets
Many of our most popular styles turn around in about 1–3 weeks depending on the style, finish and quantity. Ready-to-assemble boxes arrive flat and go together on site; pre-assembled boxes arrive ready to set and add a little time before delivery. Special finishes and unusual quantities sit at the long end of that window, and we tell you which side you are on when we write the quote. Delivery runs across metro Atlanta and throughout Georgia, to your home or the job site.
Install: one to two days for cabinets alone
Our installers set the boxes level and tight, hang and adjust every door, and leave the kitchen ready for the countertop template. If your own contractor is doing the install, we hand over the layout and the cut list. Cabinets-only installs usually take a day or two; a full remodel with demolition, countertops, plumbing and floors runs longer and depends on those trades.
What stretches the timeline
- Countertops. Stone is templated after the cabinets are set, then fabricated. Plan for the countertop schedule to start on install day, not before.
- Moving plumbing or electrical. Anything that shifts the sink, the range or a circuit can involve a permit and a licensed trade. Ask early.
- Appliances. A range that arrives after the cabinets is a gap in the run. Order appliances before cabinets, not after.
- Changing the plan after the order. A single swapped cabinet can reset the clock for that piece. Sign off on the 3D layout before anything is ordered.
What shortens it
- Choose a popular style and finish; that is where the 1–3 week window lives.
- Measure early. A September measurement leaves comfortable room for a kitchen you want done before the holidays; a November one is tight.
- Keep the old cabinets in place until the new ones are on site, so the kitchen is never out of service for a delivery.
- Take the pre-assembled option if you want install day to be short.
Planning backwards from a date
Take the day you want to cook in the new kitchen and subtract: two days to install, one to three weeks for cabinets, one week to design and quote, and a week of slack for the countertop or a late appliance. For most Atlanta kitchens that lands the measurement six to eight weeks before the date. We give a realistic timeline with every quote and we would rather tell you a date is tight than promise one we cannot hit.
