Alpharetta kitchen and bath cabinet guide: what fits your house, what it costs and when to order

For Alpharetta homeowners replacing builder cabinets, planning a bigger island or redoing a bathroom vanity this fall, with real sizes, a real starting price and an honest holiday calendar.

Alpharetta kitchens come in three kinds. Brick traditionals fill the long-settled subdivisions, from around Windward to the older streets near downtown, many built in the 1990s and 2000s and still wearing their original builder cabinets. Newer transitional builds off Old Milton Parkway and Haynes Bridge Road have open plans and taller ceilings. Townhomes around Avalon have smaller kitchens and more modern finishes. The request we hear most from all three is the same: swap dated builder cabinets for white Shaker or clean flat-panel doors, often with a roomier island.

Below is what fits those houses, what it costs, how vanities work in the same styles, and when to get measured for the holidays. Every size and price comes from our own catalog and estimates.

Quick answerA 10×10 kitchen in ready-to-assemble cabinets starts at $1,750 at MNK Cabinet, cabinets only, already 60% off list. Most Alpharetta kitchens are bigger than 10×10, so the real number comes from a free in-home measure and an itemized quote. Popular styles arrive in about 1–3 weeks and installation usually takes 1–2 days. For Thanksgiving on November 26, get measured now; for Christmas, by early November. Bathroom vanities come in the same 60 door styles as the kitchen cabinets.

What Alpharetta houses usually need

We cover the Alpharetta ZIP codes 30004, 30005 and 30009, and 30022 and 30097 on the Johns Creek side. The table shows where each type of house usually starts. Treat it as a starting point, not a rule; the tape measure has the last word.

HouseWhat we usually findWhere to start
Brick traditional in an established subdivisionOriginal builder cabinets, a kitchen open to the family room, 8- or 9-foot ceilingsWhite or gray Shaker, 42-inch uppers, drawer bases where the old door bases were
Transitional build off Old Milton ParkwayOpen plan, a big island, ceilings of 9 feet or moreWhite perimeter cabinets with a colored island, uppers stacked to the ceiling

Match the upper cabinets to your ceiling

The ceiling decides more of the finished look than the door style does. Our wall cabinets come 30, 36 and 42 inches tall, and they are usually hung with the bottom 54 inches off the floor. From there the math is simple:

CeilingUpper cabinetsWhat you get
8 feet42-inch uppersCabinets run flush to the ceiling, with no dusty gap on top
9 feet42-inch uppers with a 12-inch cabinet stacked aboveThe gap closes, as in the display kitchen pictured above; the top row can also be glass
10 feet42-inch uppers, an 18-inch stacked row and crown moldingCabinets reach the ceiling
Taller, or one unbroken door to the topAsk us firstThis is where custom cabinetry starts to earn its price

Measure the ceiling at both ends of every wall, because a small slope shows once cabinets run to the top. Growing the island too? Plan 42 inches of clear floor on every side you work from and 48 inches where two people pass; our kitchen cabinet ideas guide has the rest of the island math.

Styles that suit Alpharetta kitchens

The brick traditionals take well to white Shaker and gray Shaker. In the open plans, a navy Shaker island under white perimeter cabinets is a popular two-tone. Townhome kitchens near Avalon often suit European flat-panel doors or Slim Shaker, whose narrower frame reads more modern in a small room.

What sits behind the door matters just as much in a humid Georgia summer. Our cabinets are solid wood with soft-close doors and drawers; on the Shaker line that means ½-inch birch plywood boxes and ⅝-inch solid birch dovetail drawer boxes. The one exception is the European flat-panel line, which uses engineered furniture board boxes, so if solid wood is on your list, start with Shaker. You can open the doors and pull the drawers at the showroom before you choose.

What it costs, line by line

The $1,750 starting price for a 10×10 kitchen already includes the 60% off list, so there is no second discount waiting on top of it. A bigger Alpharetta kitchen costs more because it has more boxes, not because each box costs more: a longer island, a pantry wall and stacked uppers all add to the count. The Atlanta cabinet cost guide covers every factor. Your free estimate puts each piece on its own line:

  • Cabinets: every cabinet, panel, filler and molding in your layout.
  • Assembly, delivery and installation: optional lines. Installs by our own crews carry a 3-year workmanship warranty.
  • Countertops: not on our estimate, because we do not sell them. Start that quote early.
  • Price match: bring a written quote from another supplier for comparable, like-for-like cabinets (same box construction, door style and hardware) and we beat it by 10%.

To spread the cost, financing through Affirm can cover the invoice.

Bathrooms: vanities in the same 60 styles

Every one of our 60 door styles has vanity sink bases, so a guest bath or a primary suite can match the kitchen exactly. Most vanity cabinets are 34.5 inches tall and 21 inches deep (a few lines are 22 inches deep). In Shaker White, for example, vanity sink bases come 24, 27, 30, 33 and 36 inches wide, plus 42- and 48-inch sink bases and a 48-inch base with three drawers on each side of the sink.

The 35-inch question. A 35-inch space between two walls has no exact box. The usual answer is a 33-inch vanity sink base with a filler strip cut to take up the last 2 inches; a 36-inch base will not go in. If you meant 35 inches tall, most of our vanity cabinets are 34.5 inches before the top, the same height as our kitchen base cabinets, so with the same kind of top the vanity counter lands at kitchen-counter height.

For a double vanity, two 30-inch sink bases make a 60-inch run and two 36-inch bases make 72 inches, with an optional drawer base between them. Tops, sinks and faucets come from your countertop supplier. A bathroom is the hardest room in the house on a finish, so plywood boxes and a sealed finish matter even more here. The bathroom vanity guide has the full size chart.

The holiday calendar for Alpharetta

Our week-by-week kitchen timeline works backwards from the day you want to cook: about a week to measure, design and quote, about 1–3 weeks for a popular style to arrive, a day or two to install, and a week of slack for the countertop or a late appliance. That puts the measurement 6 to 8 weeks before the date.

Cooking byMeasure byHow it looks
Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 26Now, in mid-OctoberTight, even for a popular style. The countertop has to be templated right after install.
Christmas, Friday, December 25Late October to early NovemberComfortable for most popular styles on a cabinets-only project.

Two habits help with either date. Order appliances before cabinets, so a late range never leaves a hole in the run. And keep the old cabinets in place until the new ones are on site, so the kitchen stays usable right up to install day.

Before you book: an Alpharetta checklist

  • Measure the ceiling at both ends of each wall: 8, 9 or 10 feet?
  • Mark where the water, gas and power come out. Moving a sink, a range or a circuit can involve a permit and a licensed trade.
  • Check who issues your permits. An Alpharetta mailing address is not always inside Alpharetta city limits; parts of these ZIP codes fall in neighboring cities or counties.
  • Choose appliances before cabinets, and keep the model numbers handy.
  • Photograph the room from each corner, and bring any other written quote for the 10% price match.

Ready when you are: book a free in-home measure, or see the Alpharetta service page for the neighborhoods we cover.

Alpharetta cabinet FAQ

A 10x10 kitchen in ready-to-assemble cabinets starts at $1,750, cabinets only, and that already includes 60% off list. Larger kitchens scale with the number of cabinets, and a free in-home measure turns that into an itemized number for your layout.

Yes. The in-home measure is free across metro Atlanta, including Alpharetta's 30004, 30005 and 30009 ZIP codes. Our own crews deliver and install, or you can buy the cabinets only for your own contractor.

For Thanksgiving on November 26, get measured in mid-October, and expect a tight schedule. For Christmas, get measured by early November. Popular styles arrive in about 1–3 weeks and installation takes 1–2 days.

There is no 35-inch vanity box. Between two walls, the usual answer is a 33-inch vanity sink base with a filler strip cut to take up the last 2 inches. Most of our vanity cabinets are 34.5 inches tall and 21 inches deep, and a few lines are 22 inches deep.

Use 42-inch uppers with a 12-inch cabinet stacked above them. On an 8-foot ceiling, 42-inch uppers hung 54 inches off the floor run flush to the ceiling on their own.
